Sunday School
Each Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 we have Sunday School Classes for age two through Grade 12. A nursery is provided and there are Adult Bible Classes at the same time (see below). Teachers who have a thorough knowledge of their age group and the Bible, teach stories and principles to help our children get closer to our Savior and live a life pleasing to Him.
Nurseries
The care of our babies and toddlers is an important ministry at FABC. Our nurseries are staffed by ladies who have completed a training course for caring for our little ones. Our nurseries are open during Sunday School, Sunday morning and evening, and Wednesday evening services for newborns through age two. On Sunday evenings the toddler nursery is available for those up to three years old. You can feel confident leaving your little one in our nursery while you attend services.
Adult Bible Classes
During the Sunday School hour, we offer several different Bible classes for adults. Classes are geared toward age group, young couples, singles, and ladies. Small group Bible studies offer adult a place to get to know other adults, share their concerns and care for each other while learning practical Bible lessons. Adults have the opportunity to choose which class they would like to attend.
Children’s Church
During the Sunday morning service, we provide classes for children age 2 through grade 2. Beginners Church has classes for 2, 3 and 4 year old children. Primary Church is for those in Kindergarten through Grade 2. Bible stories and lessons are taught along with singing, snack and fun.
Youth Ministry
Our teens are a vital part of our ministry at FABC. On scheduled Friday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 throughout the school year, the teens have varied activities from bowling to gym night and more. See our calendar for scheduled activities. During the summer the teens have a variety of activities as well. Once a month, after an evening service is the Teen Say-So, a time of singing, testimony, fun and food at someone’s home. Sunday School classes and Teen 5:00 hour on Sunday are times of Bible study and training for teens in today’s culture. An outreach activity at a local rehab center gives our teens the opportunity to reach out to the community. Teens also have opportunity to serve in some capacity in our ministries.
Flyers Club
On Wednesday nights from 7:00 - 8:00 Flyers Club meets for children aged 2 through those in Kindergarten. This is a time of Bible stories, Bible memory, and activity, which sets the biblical foundation for our young children.
King's Kids
Children in grades 1-6 meet [Fridays throughout the School year from 7:00 - 9:00 for our King's Kids program. They play games, sing, Bible quiz, and hear good preaching. Children recite Bible verses to pass goal cards each week. As they pass each level, they are awarded a Ribbon of Excellence. Hiding God's Word in one's heart is a must for every Christian.
SOS Ministry
The Seeing Others Served Ministry is a ministry of Farmington Avenue Baptist Church. We call it the SOS Ministry for short. Our ministry consists of men who help others with home repair and home maintenance. No skills are required to participate. The ministry is blessed with many men who have the necessary skills for all the various jobs the ministry requires. We meet on the first Saturday of the month following the Men's Prayer Breakfast. Come and fellowship with other men while doing a good service for others. We hope to see you there. Click here for SOS website
Deaf Ministry
All our services are interpreted for the deaf and hearing impaired by members of our church who are trained and love to work with deaf people.
Music at FABC
We believe that music is important to God and should honor him in a way that does not emulate the world. We love to sing at FABC, and each service is filled with music from congregational singing, the choir and special music.
The NEW Ministry
The NEW Ministry (Neighbors Evangelizing by Welcoming) seeks to lift up Jesus Christ by reaching out to new parents and new community homeowners. The new neighbor/parent is given a gift bag which includes the Gospel message and an information packet about FABC. Visitation bags are distributed once monthly.
Hartford Christian Academy
Our Christian day school for Kindergarten through grade twelve affords our parents the opportunity to have their children educated according to the mandates of God. Believing that parents are held accountable by God for the education of their children, we have provided an education based upon Biblical principles, in a disciplined atmosphere, with a strong emphasis on the basics of education, by teachers called of God to serve the Lord. For more information, please call our office at 860-521-5476. Also, please take the time to visit our school's web site. Just click here
Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Men and boys meet the first Saturday of each month at 7:30am at the church to pray. Prayer requests are shared and then we break up into smaller prayer groups.
After a time of prayer, we go down to the kitchen area for a hot breakfast prepared by several men of the church.
It’s a great time of fellowship with other believers, share prayer requests and wait on our Lord as he answers our prayers in His time.
